Last year we invited the people of Dunstable and artist Laurence Payot to dance with the wind and create a new folklore.

In September, over a thousand people gathered on the downs in gale force winds, having spent all summer ‘charming the wind’ in the town below.

Filmmaker Tim Brunsden followed Laurence throughout this year long project, as she worked with the people of Dunstable, defining what is important and meaningful for us in Dunstable today, and inventing a folklore for the future.

On 8th March join us at the Priory House Visitor Centre in Dunstable for the first look at this spectacular and moving film. Meet the artist, celebrate this remarkable achievement and hear plans for this year’s wind charming event, the second in what we hope will become a new annual tradition.

Come at 1pm for the exclusive premiere and to meet the artist. Repeat screenings will follow throughout the afternoon. Check our website for timings.

An exhibition of photographs by local photographers  will accompany the screening, and remain at Priory House for two weeks.

Commissioned and produced by Bedford Creative Arts working with artist Laurence Payot and a team of creative people from in and out of the town.
Special thanks to the National Trust at Dunstable Downs and Dunstable Town Council.
Supported by the Chilterns Conservation Board.
