Reveal the wind charmer in you

Dunstable Wind Charming Initiation days – booking now open – limited places (over 16 years only)
Saturday 9 or Sunday 10 August, 11-4pm
In Priory Church Hall and Gardens

Become a Dunstable Wind Charmer, a character from a local legend who takes on many forms and is embodied by many different people.

Over the summer months, the Wind Charmers have the power to reveal the wind as it wanders in people’s houses, in little streets and alleyways.

Become a Wind Charmer to feel more in tune with your inner feelings, reconnect with the invisible, with the collective memories floating in the wind, and with the past, present and future.

The Initiation day will be a chance to be creative and do something unusual and fun with other people and a team of artists. By the end of the day, you will become an official guardian for this new folklore, keeping the legend alive for years to come.

You will be invited to:
> Design and make your own folkloric costume inspired by the wind.
> Learn about tetrahedron kites and make your own.
> Listen to personal stories about the wind.
> Practice some simple ritual movements to charm the wind on Dunstable Wind Charming Day

This year, Dunstable Wind Charming Day will take place on Sunday 31 August, 1.30 until 4pm, on the Dunstable Downs by the Chilterns Gateway Centre, LU6 2GY.
