We’d like to invite you to join us during Festival 2018 this summer for Strength in Unity.
We are bringing together a group of singers to create a unique performance space within the festival and on the streets of Glasgow, to sing songs celebrating solidarity, equality and the diversity that makes us stronger, creating a more politicised space within the festival, encouraging a different take on the idea of “commonwealth”.
The performance space will be created using People Paviliona mobile wearable architecture where the singers become the walls. Singers wear light panels on their backs, that fold away into a rucksack for carrying, literally a pop-up amphitheatre.
People Pavilion is created by artists Ailie Rutherford and Laurence Payot. Strength in Unity was devised by Ailie & Laurence in collaboration with choir leader Cath Campbell
