"The everyday is the place where repetition and creativity confront each other." (Henri Lefebvre)

What if hundred of people behaved differently for one day? Between Monday 23 May and Sunday 5 June 2011, over 600 Picton residents created a subtle 14-day performance within their area. Each day, they received a text message with an action to perform as part of their daily lives, slightly transforming their daily behaviour. These small individual actions, happening at any time of the day, in different locations, and in various contexts, gave form to Coincidence.

The daily actions were suggested by local groups and residents during discussions with Laurence Payot previous to the performance, reflecting on people's perception of the are and desire to challenge assumptions and daily routines.
